Home of the Wraithguard An Ostermark Guild

The idea of having an open RvR night was kicked around and I think it’s a great idea!  Check your guild calendar in game for the specifics.  Everyone should be able to sign up for the event in game.  Once we know who’s coming we can figure out where we’re going.

There are a lot of facets to “the guild leader thing” and looking for potential allies for the war effort is one of them.  (Eating cookies is another.  I had a cookie today, it was pretty awesome.)

Anyway, back on topic.

I am very pleased to announce that we have now become part of the “Oath Guard” alliance.  This alliance was formed with the good people of the Oath Friends.  A few of us have grouped with these folks a few times in the past and it’s always been a good time.  This alliance should help expand the resources we have for finding other folks to group up with for questing or RvR.

To access the alliance channel, just use /a.

Please keep in mind that due to the RP nature of this server, communication on this alliance channel is to be kept in character.  Now, that doesn’t mean you have to get all high falutin with your language, but it does mean that you should not say “/a Yo, whatup my homies?” or whatever it is those dang kids say these days.

Next time you log in, feel free to give a cheer to the alliance channel.

Wraithguard sure saw a lot of action this weekend!  We’ve had a whole new batch of recruits (up to 15 so far) sign up for our 2 week “tire-kicker” membership.  We’re getting pretty close to our max number, which is great news!  I’ve been pretty happy with the quality of folks who have shown interest in our humble little group here.

We also had some great RvR scenarios as well!   We had a full guild party running through scenarios almost all Friday night!   I think we maybe lost 1 scenario the whole weekend and that one was pretty close.  Otherwise, we pretty much dominated.  In one scenario our guild group was responsible for 5 flag captures!  Not too shabby!  I can’t wait till we have a full scenario of only Wraithguard.

Keep up the good fight,

Aerioch

We’re getting closer to leveling up enough to claim our heraldry.  I found a page with all the available emblems for the heraldry here: http://interpim.com/emblems/

Take a look and post your favorite in the comments section.

Its been a crazy week since the launch of WAR!

  • We’ve had a huge influx of great new guildies.   So much so that we’re getting close to putting the cap on recruitment for a while.
  • We’ve progressed to level 5 as a guild, which get’s us a standard as well as the ability to add tactics to that standard which will give those around the standard a buff.

So what’s next?

  • Deciding on our first guild tactic.  Based on discussion and feedback, we’re looking at either a Toughness or Armor buff.
  • Guild colors.  I’ve had a few people ask me about our official guild colors so they could dye their armor to match.  I want to give some options for folks, so I’ll be announcing our official guild colors soon.  My first thought is Red, Black and White, but I need to look at the in game dyes to find something that works.

So stay tuned, I’ll post the decisions here first!

Yesterday we hit rank 5 as a guild and gained the ability to assign a standard bearer.

It’s my pleasure to announce Ivanoe as the first!  Ever since we started contemplating forming a guild in Warhammer he has been hounding me to be a standard bearer.  I’ve been keeping an eye on his RvR exploits and I think we will do us proud.

The first official weekend of Wraithguard in WAR was a success!  We were in and out of RvR scenarios the entire weekend, coming out with about an 80% win rate.  Not a bad showing for just getting our feet wet as a team.  I’m looking forward to the point when we can fill an entire scenario with just us.

On the people side of things, we had 4 new Tire-Kickers sign up.  We all extend a warm Wraithguard welcome to:

  • Caernmorr
  • Faragrim
  • Olric
  • Zar

Update:  We did have 3 additional folks try us out over the weekend, but they were looking for more RP.  While Wraithguard is RP-friendly, its not a priority for us.  We wish them the best of luck in their search for a guild.

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our newest recruit, Ulthrandir.  He started the two week trial period last night so we can make sure the Wraithguard are a fit for him and he is a fit for us.  If last night was any indication, it sounds like he’ll fit in just fine.

Quote of the night:

After us harassing him about flashing everyone while trying on his new loot, he replied:

“Well, you didn’t have to look!”

Looks like Mythic came to their senses after the internets blew up about them ending the headstart today.  Here’s the official word from Mark Jacob:

Folks,

Good, bad or ugly, Mythic has always had the integrity to stand up for what we think is the right thing to do in any situation. I don’t expect everyone to agree but I’ve never intentionally made a decision to hurt the community and/or our players and I don’t intend to start now. For the last couple of days we’ve been dealing with a very difficult and complicated situation. Sadly, there are lots of moving parts and sometimes it takes both a bit of elbow grease to get things working properly. Here’s where we stand right now. As of this morning, we deactivated a large number of accounts and ended the Head Start for our game. At the same time, we’ve been in touch with the retailers, both online and brick-and-mortar, and while we are getting great data on the number of people who will get their game today; there is still a relatively small number of people who won’t be able to get them due to shipping issues (no matter what the issues are, whose fault, etc.). So, after a lot of conversations I’m happy to announce that over the next few hours we are going to extend the grace period for all customers of Amazon, GoGamer and the EA Store till the 22nd of September. Based on the data we have gathered, these companies account for just about all the customers that were concerned about their chance to get into the game today. Thus, if you currently have an account with us, you’ll be able to get back into the game while you wait for your game to be delivered. Of course, all characters are still intact and no billing of any credit card has taken place (it couldn’t, the account still has free time on it) since the accounts were simply deactivated not wiped. We have been assured by all the brick-and-mortar retailers that they got their shipments in the stores already so if you needed to go to a store to pick up your game, the units are in stock everywhere. We will be monitoring the situation closely over the next twenty-four hours of course.

As I’ve said countless times, we will do the best we can in any situation to make it right and I hope you agree with have done so again. I thank the community for its support, especially for this rather thorny problem.

Mark

Good to see them stand up and do the right thing.

See you in game

Well, it looks like Mythic is being a little draconian with their head start program. According to an official announcement today, your key must be entered by Friday morning to be able to continue playing. Nothing will happen to your account if you don’t have a key yet, but you will not be able to log in. Seems kinda crazy that they would not allow more time.

Official post:
“This announcement is to let everyone know that if you haven’t yet entered your CD key into the account center, you must do so by tomorrow (Friday) morning at 7:00 AM. If you do not enter your information into the Account Center by the deadline your characters will not be affected, you will just be unable to login until your product key is entered.”
