We’ve been having issues with certain players not being heard on our TeamSpeak server, so I have switched our voice server of choice to Ventrilo.  You can find the connection info by clicking on “Wraithguard Ventrilo Server” to the right.

In order to better co-ordinate activities with our allies, we have now have access to an alliance Ventrilo server.  Each guild has its own individual channel, but there are also channels dedicated to rvr and individual groups that you can hop in when you like.  See this page for more info: http://wraithguard.net/?page_id=144

This Friday and Saturday night, we will have running alliance warbands for the tier 3 and tier 4 RvR areas.  Look at your in game calendar for the times.  I will post the warband leaders here by Friday morning.

Update:  It’s been a slow week around the halls of Wraithguard.

Chaele and Gaereth will be logged in and forming groups for the OpenRvR.  Due to my crazy Pacific Standard Time, I will be in a little later.

Well, we definitely started the weekend off with a bang.  Our first official guild “Open Field RvR” night found us recapturing 5 keeps from Destruction!  For our first capture, it was all Wraithguard and a couple of our friends from the Oath Friends.  It took us a couple starts to get the technique down, but once we did, we ripped right through it.  Word of our capture spread like wildfire and at the next few keeps we saw more and more forces of Order there to take up the fight.

Many thanks to Chaele and Gaereth for rounding everyone up and giving us a direction.

Great job everyone, you all did us proud!

The idea of having an open RvR night was kicked around and I think it’s a great idea!  Check your guild calendar in game for the specifics.  Everyone should be able to sign up for the event in game.  Once we know who’s coming we can figure out where we’re going.

There are a lot of facets to “the guild leader thing” and looking for potential allies for the war effort is one of them.  (Eating cookies is another.  I had a cookie today, it was pretty awesome.)

Anyway, back on topic.

I am very pleased to announce that we have now become part of the “Oath Guard” alliance.  This alliance was formed with the good people of the Oath Friends.  A few of us have grouped with these folks a few times in the past and it’s always been a good time.  This alliance should help expand the resources we have for finding other folks to group up with for questing or RvR.

To access the alliance channel, just use /a.

Please keep in mind that due to the RP nature of this server, communication on this alliance channel is to be kept in character.  Now, that doesn’t mean you have to get all high falutin with your language, but it does mean that you should not say “/a Yo, whatup my homies?” or whatever it is those dang kids say these days.

Next time you log in, feel free to give a cheer to the alliance channel.

Wraithguard sure saw a lot of action this weekend!  We’ve had a whole new batch of recruits (up to 15 so far) sign up for our 2 week “tire-kicker” membership.  We’re getting pretty close to our max number, which is great news!  I’ve been pretty happy with the quality of folks who have shown interest in our humble little group here.

We also had some great RvR scenarios as well!   We had a full guild party running through scenarios almost all Friday night!   I think we maybe lost 1 scenario the whole weekend and that one was pretty close.  Otherwise, we pretty much dominated.  In one scenario our guild group was responsible for 5 flag captures!  Not too shabby!  I can’t wait till we have a full scenario of only Wraithguard.

Keep up the good fight,

Aerioch

Its been a crazy week since the launch of WAR!

  • We’ve had a huge influx of great new guildies.   So much so that we’re getting close to putting the cap on recruitment for a while.
  • We’ve progressed to level 5 as a guild, which get’s us a standard as well as the ability to add tactics to that standard which will give those around the standard a buff.

So what’s next?

  • Deciding on our first guild tactic.  Based on discussion and feedback, we’re looking at either a Toughness or Armor buff.
  • Guild colors.  I’ve had a few people ask me about our official guild colors so they could dye their armor to match.  I want to give some options for folks, so I’ll be announcing our official guild colors soon.  My first thought is Red, Black and White, but I need to look at the in game dyes to find something that works.

So stay tuned, I’ll post the decisions here first!

Yesterday we hit rank 5 as a guild and gained the ability to assign a standard bearer.

It’s my pleasure to announce Ivanoe as the first!  Ever since we started contemplating forming a guild in Warhammer he has been hounding me to be a standard bearer.  I’ve been keeping an eye on his RvR exploits and I think we will do us proud.

The first official weekend of Wraithguard in WAR was a success!  We were in and out of RvR scenarios the entire weekend, coming out with about an 80% win rate.  Not a bad showing for just getting our feet wet as a team.  I’m looking forward to the point when we can fill an entire scenario with just us.

On the people side of things, we had 4 new Tire-Kickers sign up.  We all extend a warm Wraithguard welcome to:

  • Caernmorr
  • Faragrim
  • Olric
  • Zar

Update:  We did have 3 additional folks try us out over the weekend, but they were looking for more RP.  While Wraithguard is RP-friendly, its not a priority for us.  We wish them the best of luck in their search for a guild.
